Based on the best-selling novel, The Girl on the Train is a psychological thriller that explores what could happen if the only witness to a murder could not trust her own memories. The story is told from multiple points of view, lending to a crushing uncertainty throughout the film. As such, the entire campaign that Pixelleration created for Universal Pictures unfolds with a sense of cloudiness through recollections that guide the user in different directions, relying on the disparate memories of the various characters involved.

Experiential Website

The web experience mimics the hazy recollection of the principal character, with blurred elements and hidden messages. As users interact with specific areas of the site, they expose brief glimpses into the story.
