VH1’s first scripted show, The Breaks, was an instant hit about three friends who try to make it in the fledgling hip-hop game of the early 90s. Set in New York City, The Breaks features some of music’s most prominent names and explores the eco-system that was New York’s music scene. Through a lyric video campaign, we focus on the lyrical styling that prevails throughout the show.
Incorporating the raw style of the Golden Age of Hip-Hop, I produced a series of lyric videos that integrate song lyrics into the environment, while retaining the overall look and feel of the campaign.
